Jeffrey B. Schwartz
Jeffrey B. Schwartz, an 11-year private equity veteran with previous investment banking experience, leads the General Partner. Prior to founding Corbel, Jeff worked on investments in 10 companies representing nearly $1 billion of capital at his former employers, Ares Management and The Gores Group. In conjunction with those employers’ investments, Jeff has served on the boards of a total of 10 public and private companies over the past 8 years. Until September 2013, Jeff was a Managing Director with The Gores Group, responsible for leading the negotiation and execution of certain Gores acquisitions and divestitures in the U.S., primarily in the consumer products and retail industry sectors. While at Gores, Jeff led investments into and served on the board of directors of J. Mendel, Mexx Group and Big Strike, while deploying over $150 million in capital. Prior to joining Gores, Jeff was a Principal in the Private Equity Group of Ares in Los Angeles, where he worked on numerous leveraged buyouts, distressed debt and Structured Equity investments. While at Ares, Jeff closed 6 platform acquisitions and served on the board of directors of General Nutrition Centers, Nortek, Samsonite, Stream Global Services, WCA Waste, White Energy and Tinnerman Palnut. Prior to joining Ares, Jeff was an investment banker at Lehman Brothers in the financial sponsors group, and prior to that he was in the mergers and acquisitions group at Wasserstein Perella & Co. Jeff has served as Fund Advisor to Corridor Capital for the last 5 years. Jeff holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Jeffrey S. Serota
Jeffrey S. Serota has over 25 years of experience as a principal investor, financial services professional and operating executive. Jeff served as a Senior Partner with Ares Management, an independent Los Angeles based investment firm, from 1997 - 2012. Jeff also served as a Senior Advisor to Ares in 2013 and 2014. Since Ares’ founding in 1997, assets under management have grown to over $70 billion with specific focus areas of private equity; public high yield debt; private high yield debt; mezzanine capital; and real estate. During Jeff’s tenure at Ares, he was a member of the Investment Committee for all private equity related transactions. This represented over 50 completed transactions with an aggregate of equity capital deployed of over $7 billion. While Jeff was at Ares, Ares pursued a flexible investing strategy, and transaction structures included buyouts, recapitalizations, structured equity, minority interest and distressed-for-control among others. Jeff has led transactions (including sourcing, due diligence, financing, consummating, monitoring and exiting) of a variety of sizes and in numerous industries including industrials, energy, chemicals, manufacturing and business services. As part of his role as Senior Partner at Ares, Jeff has acted as an interim CEO for certain portfolio company investments of Ares, led fundraising efforts for private equity investment funds, participated in numerous private and public companies as a member of the Board of Directors, and assisted in the management of the private equity efforts at Ares. Prior to joining Ares, Jeff worked at Bear Stearns, Dabney/Resnick, Inc. and Salomon Brothers Inc. In each of those positions, he specialized in providing investment banking services to clients of the firm and/or evaluating principal investing activities on behalf of the firm or its clients. Currently, Jeff participates on the Board of Directors of two multi-billion dollar public energy companies. Jeff is the Chairman of SandRidge Energy, Inc and also sits on the Board of Exco Resources, Inc. Jeff holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California at Los Angeles.
Michael H. Jones
Michael H. Jones joined Corbel at its founding and is a Principal. Prior to Corbel, Michael was a Vice President at Morgan Stanley, where as an M&A investment banker he executed and closed over $25 billion in M&A transactions across the consumer and retail, industrials, and business services industries. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Michael worked in the Executive Office of Secretary General Kofi Annan at United Nations headquarters in New York, first as a John Gardner Fellow and later as Special Advisor for Counter Terrorism. While at the United Nations, Michael helped author the first Global Counter Terrorism Strategy, which was adopted unanimously by all 192 Member States of the General Assembly in 2006. Michael earned his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and his B.A. in Economics with Highest Honors from the University of California at Berkeley, where he graduated summa cum laude, a Regents’ Scholar, a California Leadership Fellow, and Phi Beta Kappa.
Erich R. Sorger
Erich R. Sorger joined Corbel in 2015 from the Private Equity Group at Ares Management, where he spent two years as an Associate in Los Angeles. While at Ares, Erich helped to evaluate and execute numerous growth, turnaround, LBO and distressed-for-control investments. Erich's transaction and portfolio expertise encompassed a variety of different industries and geographies from multi-billion dollar retail investments, such as the Neiman Marcus Group, to multi-million dollar energy investments, such as BlackBrush Oil & Gas. Prior to Ares, Erich spent two years as an Analyst at Moelis & Company in Los Angeles, where he advised on over $12 billion in buy and sell-side M&A, private placements, debt issuances, equity offerings and restructurings across a diverse set of industries, including media, retail, gaming, and real estate. Prior to Moelis, Erich worked in the Asset Management division of Goldman Sachs & Co. as well as at the Bank of Israel with then-Governor Stanley Fischer, currently the Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. Erich earned his B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School, and a B.S. in Engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, both at the University of Pennsylvania in the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology (M&T), where he graduated magna cum laude, a Joseph Wharton Scholar, and a Benjamin Franklin Scholar. Erich currently serves on the Penn Hillel Board of Overseers.
Michael S. Chang
Michael S. Chang joined Corbel in 2017 from the Structured Equity investment team at Levine Leichtman Capital Partners, where he helped evaluate new investment opportunities, conduct investment due diligence, manage portfolio companies and source add-on acquisitions. While at Levine Leichtman, Michael executed and closed investments across a variety of different industries and investment vehicles from healthcare leveraged buyouts to SBIC manufacturing turnarounds. Prior to Levine Leichtman, Michael was an Analyst at Morgan Stanley, where he advised on over $10 billion in leveraged buyouts, buy and sell-side M&A, debt issuances, equity offerings and share repurchases in the retail, manufacturing, healthcare, and business services sectors. Michael earned his B.S. in Business Administration from the Hass School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. Michael currently serves on the board of Mending Kids International.

Rudy Freeman has practiced law for the past 18 years in the sectors of bankruptcy/corporate restructuring, business and commercial transactions, and sports and entertainment law. Rudy regularly advises private equity funds, investment and commercial banks, and studios in transactions including leveraged acquisition financings, distressed asset acquisitions, production financing and other debt and equity financings. Rudy has been recognized as a rising young star in the areas of business and commercial transactions. Before founding Freeman | Nelson, Rudy worked as an attorney at internationally recognized law firms Pillsbury Madison and Sutro, LLP (now Pillsbury Withrop), Paul Hastings, LLP, and Pachulski Stang Ziehl and Jones, LLP specializing in bankruptcy, corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and general corporate law before moving on to become the Vice President and General Counsel of ASM Sports. Rudy is admitted to the state bar of California and admitted in the Central, Northern and Southern Districts of the Federal Courts in California. Rudy attended the University California at Los Angeles and received his B.A. in Political Science and Economics, going on to earn his J.D. from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles.

Tom Zelenovic is a proven operator, board member, and investor in numerous consumer product companies in the recreational, home improvement and hunting accessories categories. Tom was most recently CEO of Gold Tip, a leading manufacturer of archery accessories. While at Gold Tip, Tom repositioned the company’s sales and marketing strategy, enhanced product perception with the end buyer, significantly increased sales with key customers and led the business to a successful exit to a strategic buyer. Prior to managing the turnaround of Gold Tip, Tom spent 3 years as a Principal at the Seidler Companies, where he financed and worked on the improvement of various lower middle market businesses. Before joining Seidler, Tom was a Vice President at Lehman Brothers, focusing on financings in the consumer and retail sectors. Tom has also worked as a team leader at Allergan. Tom received his B.A. from California Lutheran University and earned his M.B.A. from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California at Los Angeles.

David Grooms is a seasoned executive and currently CEO of Mesa Secure, an Aerospace & Defense and Business Services consulting company. David was previously COO of Datron World Communications and President of the Datron Advanced Technology Group, overseeing the manufacture, design, and distribution of military communications solutions. Prior to Datron, David was, among other roles, President of Kyocera North America, overseeing facilities in the United States, Mexico, and Guam, with over $1 billion in sales as of his 20th year with the company. David has extensive experience developing strong sales growth, product development and establishing manufacturing operations in the US, Mexico and Israel, and also has extensive business experience in Asia, Europe and the Middle East and North Africa.
Corbel Investment Committee Member, CEO Corridor Capital
Craig Enenstein founded Corridor Capital, LLC in September 2005 to pursue control investments in lower middle market buyouts. Leveraging his operating and investment experience, Craig approaches investing as an active partner. Craig developed Corridor Capital to be a strategic and operational partner to the companies in which it invests and to work closely with the management and boards of directors of those companies, and believes that Corbel's investment strategy mirrors many of those attributes. Prior to launching Corridor Capital, Craig led transactions for Omninet Capital, Liberty Digital and Knowledge Universe where he completed over two dozen private equity and venture capital investments totaling over $400 million across a wide range of industries. He developed a reputation for working closely with management of the portfolio companies to assist in business strategy, mergers and acquisitions sourcing and execution, capital access and structuring, operations restructuring and business planning. Prior to joining Knowledge Universe, Craig was a strategy consultant with L.E.K. Consulting and Bain & Company. Craig currently serves on the boards of TrashMasters, LLC, Wetmore Tool & Engineering, Inc., US Industrial Tool & Supply, Inc., Arvan, Inc., Innovative Office Products, LLC, Consolidated Flooring, LLC, Circuitronics EMS Holdings, LLC, Connecting Point Holdings, LLC, Naspers Limited and Wharton Private Equity & Venture Capital Association. L. Geoffrey Greulich
L. Geoffrey Greulich brings a wealth of portfolio operating experience with him from 5 years spent at Oaktree Capital Management, where he founded and headed the U.S. operations team for Oaktree’s $6.7 billion Global Principal group. His team worked with Oaktree’s portfolio companies to provide hands-on oversight, management, and advisory services across all business functions primarily during portfolio company acquisition, operational transformation or distress. Geoff has experience working in both operational and commercial roles across a variety of industries including manufacturing, healthcare, financial services and media. Geoff was previously the Chief Executive Officer of Levlad LLC, a sponsor-owned manufacturer of natural and traditional health and beauty products. Before that, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Silgan Containers where he was responsible for finance, information technology, strategy and corporate development. Over his more than 25 year career, he also has had experiences in marketing, business development and operations management positions at American Business Products, Tenneco Packaging and GE Capital. Geoff currently serves on the boards of Innovative Office Products, LLC, Consolidated Flooring, LLC., Wetmore Tool & Engineering, Inc., US Industrial Tool & Supply, Inc., Arvan, Inc. and Circuitronics EMS Holdings, LLC. Geoff received an M.B.A. in Strategy and Operations from the University of Chicago and B.S. and B.A. degrees in Engineering and Economics from Vanderbilt University.
Director of Finance
Thomas Mokulehua provides finance and accounting support to Corbel's portfolio companies and management partners. He also works with the Corbel Investment Team on financial underwriting related to new investment opportunities. Prior to joining the team, Thomas was a member of DaVita HealthCare Partners’ corporate development and mergers & acquisitions team supporting development and growth efforts in a high-volume transaction execution setting. Before joining DaVita, Thomas was a Senior Manager in Deloitte Advisory’s Mergers, Acquisitions & Divestitures group where he focused on buy-side and sell-side financial diligence. He also worked at KPMG as an auditor and consultant. Thomas is a Certified Public Accountant and received Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in accounting and finance from Loyola Marymount University.

Shaun Wright brings with him more than five years of investment origination and evaluation experience. Prior to joining the team, Shaun spent five years at Platinum Equity, a $2.75B private equity fund, where he focused on originating and evaluating new acquisitions for the firm in the lower middle market. During his tenure, Shaun sourced six platform investments and eight add-on acquisitions representing over 30% of Platinum’s total acquisitions from 2007 – 2012. Prior to Platinum, Shaun spent two years at a local accounting firm gaining the necessary work experience to complete his licensure as a CPA. Shaun holds a B.A. in Economics from University of California at Santa Barbara.
